Today our community celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony to welcome the new Fairfield Glade Emergency Services Center. The FGESC, located at the corner of Maintenance Drive and Catoosa Boulevard will provide improved first responder capabilities to the residents of Fairfield Glade for many years to come. Members of the FFG Board and the FGFD Board were on hand along with several other dignitaries including Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster, County Commissioners Colleen Mall and John Patterson. Also present were FGRS President John Wedgeworth and the FGFD officer corps, including Kirk McLaughlin, Chief, Abe Celik, Deputy Chief and a host of other officers. Scott Hartema introduced the dignitaries and thanked the many stakeholders of the project that spent countless hours designing the facility. We, the members of the FGFD, want to thank the FFGCC Board of Directors for their help in bringing this much-needed facility to reality. We would also like to thank all the residents of Fairfield Glade for their continued moral and financial support, without which we could not achieve our goal of protecting the lives and property of those in and around the Fairfield Glade Community from fire, and other emergencies, whether natural or manmade, through fire suppression, public education and continuous training.
