FGFD Responds To Brush Fire

Writer: Fairfield Glade Fire DepartmentFairfield Glade Fire Department

At 8:43am 4/17, your FGFD was called to a small brush fire on Kingsboro Drive. First responders were on scene in 3 minutes. Firefighters extinguished the fire with water. The fire was apparently started by some hot coals that someone deposited in the wooded area. Please take this as a lesson. Proper disposal of grill coals or fire pit ashes is a must. Be sure to completely douse any remaining coals or ashes with water before you dispose of them. Take extra care to be aware of any combustibles in the area of disposal and be sure to clear them before you deposit your ashes.

Firefighter Tom Kress mans the house to prevent any further spreading of the brush fire.
